Memories of Asian Elders These memories belong to Elders from the South Asian community who moved to Walsall during the 1950s and 1960s. Elders took part in tape-recorded interviews within their home or community centre to describe the circumstances and arrangements for leaving their place of birth and the events that led them to Walsall. Elders responded in their chosen language and younger family members or Care Workers supported with interpretation and translation as necessary.
Elders received a copy of the interview tape for their families and the original tapes are held at Walsall Local History Centre for use by researchers and younger generations. |
