Everyone is an expert in their own past
Every community has a tale to tell and often it is the older members of a community who understand the importance of recording their memories. Projects such as documenting the memories of ‘Asian Elders’ are very important - not only is this generation becoming elderly, but they leave memories that younger generations can be inspired by and learn from.
If groups are considering undertaking a local history study they should
seek advice from their local history centre or record office regarding
their proposed project and its requirements. |
