Viewing Planning Applications and Making Comments On Current Applications

We consult all those neighbours we consider are likely to be affected by a planning proposal. Responses can be made by letter, email or interactively using this new facility.

All responses are taken into account when the application is determined. However, these should be restricted to comments relating to land use planning considerations.

As general background the following examples are not matters which can be taken into account when an application is determined:-

• Effect on property values
• Character or motives of applicant
• Aspects covered by other legislation
• Covenants or land ownership matters
• Private neighbour disputes
• Protection of a private view
• Financial gain/commercial interests
• Impact of construction works

Please note that all comments received by the Council will normally be scanned into a computer and made available to the general public on the Council’s web site.

You may prefer that certain personal details, such as your private telephone number and e-mail address, are not published on the Internet, in which case you should ensure that such details are not contained in your comments. Please note, however, that if your comments do not contain your name and address they will be treated as an anonymous and given little weight.

The Council cannot acknowledge receipt of any comments, nor is it possible to reply to you on any issues raised, or provide further information other than that contained in the application details submitted
